Voici pour continuer dans la collection Shell Berre, le chariot à vapeur de W.S Henson et J.Stringfellow projet élaboré en 1842/1843.
Surface de toile montée sur nervures et longerons de bois. Gouvernail de direction et de profondeur . Hélice mue par un moteur à vapeur léger. Atterrissage sur trois roues. Un des premiers échecs dont tous les journaux européens se moquèrent. Cette énorme machine n’a jamais volé, mais fit rêver les inventeurs de vaisseaux aériens géants et contribua à la réussite du premier vol libre de J.Stringfellow sur aéroplane à vapeur en 1848.

I am a fanatic papercraft modeller. I have my comment oabout the Shell Berre serie. There are 34! Models of this series. A first edition and a second edition have even been published. The first serie printing is of less brightness in color and the second printing is brighter and sharper. My comment on this series is that there is no good building description of the models. Second, the fit is particularly bad. I have tried to make several models, but partly due to the poor construction description, the parts are not correct. This also makes it difficult to see how you should make the so-called brake drums. The base plate on which the model is to stand is too small for the model. And why do you see « fat tires » in the various photos while the wheels are just slices after cutting? In short, a nice series but actually bad fit and not good to make.
